Got a Cold? Stop It With a Few Tips

How is your health?  Is that a weird question? It seems like every time I turn around, I hear about more and more people catching colds right now..
KNOCK - ON- WOOD, it hasn't got us yet... (Although it should be soon, since the weather just keeps changing on us...)I mean, seriously, I just found out a friend of mine has whooping cough... Another is showing signs of strep-throat!
So... I just got an email and I thought I would share it:

TOP 5 TIPS to STOP Your COLD
Natural Ways to Stop Your Cold
Zinc Gluconate: Because of zinc's antiviral properties, taking a well-formulated zinc cold remedy, such as zinc gluconate, at the onset of a cold can significantly reduce the cold's duration and severity, according to a comprehensive review of medical research on the subject. The delivery method of zinc is critical to its effectiveness; certain additives can prohibit the zinc icons from being released. Carefully research your zinc product choice to ensure effective treatment. They recommend :Cold-EEZE Oral Spray
(We have it if we need it!)

Honey: Aside from being a great sweetener, honey is also a time-tested remedy for coughs and loaded with antioxidants. Studies have shown that buckwheat honey may provide better relief of nighttime coughs than over-the-counter (OTC) cough syrups and can help sooth your throat.  They recommend: Maty's All Natural Cough Syrup
(Actually gave this to Broxton the other day, surprised me when he didn't freak out over the taste like he normally does when given medicine!)

Fenugreek: Fenugreek tea helps to clear out mucus, reduce respiratory inflammation, and ease your urge to cough. Recent research suggests that fenugreek may also have powerful antiviral propertiesThey recommend: Alvita Teas Fenugreek Seed Tea
(I have never even heard of Fenugreek Tea, so I do not have a clue)

Garlic: Garlic has potent antiviral and antibacterial properties to help fight infection. Mix freshly chopped garlic with food, take it with a teaspoon of honey, or brew some into a tea. They recommend: Trader Joe's Crushed Garlic
(Marc SWEARS if you take a teaspoon of garlic, cover it in honey and just swallow, you will feel IMMEDIATE relief for a sore throat.  He does it whenever and I just take his word, I just am still a bit unsure about that one!)

Pomegranate:Packed with vitamins, antioxidants, and zinc, pomegranate juice boosts your immune system and helps your body defend itself. They recommend: POM Wonderful 100% Pomegranate Juice
( I love POM.. bottom line!)

Cayenne Pepper: A small bit of dried cayenne pepper powder, made into a tea with lemon or mixed into a broth, will help clear up congested sinuses as well as aiding circulation to fend off chills. They recommend: Simply Organic Cayenne Pepper
(I couldn't tell you either way, but I have heard it is true.)

*** This was not a paid / sponsored post.  Although they did recommend products, I am basically just sharing this as I see many people with a Facebook Status that asks suggestions... Hope this helps!
