Hi, my name is Nicole.
Shhhh,, I'm about to tell you my secret- while I totally adore and love Halloween,
I am a Christmas Decorating ADDICT.
Whew! It feels good admitting that! LOL

Yup- I just can NOT help it. When those Christmas decorations come out in the stores- I KNOW I will have to buy some! Not that we NEED any more! Seriously, we have 10 large bins of Christmas decor and ornaments and lights, and 5 trees: a 10 ft, a 8 ft, a 6 ft, a 3 ft and a personal foot size tree for Kiddo's room. And yet, we've bought a fresh tree for the last 4 years! Course that doesn't include the 3 bins of OUTSIDE holiday decorations. SIGH, at least I come by it honestly- it's handed down in my mom's family, sorta like red hair or a stubborness gene....
And unfortunately, it's being passed on yet again.....
Yup, Kiddo can NOT walk past a decorated Christmas tree. She has to stop and pay homage to it! She was the only 18 month old I've ever seen that was ADDICTED to holiday commercials. Those holiday jewelry commercials came on and she RAN to the TV and oohed and awed and tried to sing along. Sing her a Christmas carol, and she'd be out like a light...SIGHSO when we heard that Sears Christmas Shoppe was already open, we HAD to be there!
While you don't normally think Sears and holiday decor, Sears has everything you need for Christmas decorating, available in-store or online, including
Sears also has an extensive line of lights, including GE light sets, Gemmy Light Show and Holiday Showtime.. In fact, Kiddo was awed by the display of lighted figures (the 'frownies' in the pictures were because I kept making her stand STILL-so I could take a picture-she kept running around and around!)! Check out our pictures and you can see how great the offerings are!I wish I had more pictures of all the aisles of trim and decor, but somebody got a hold of the cell phone and erased a few (ahem Ms LSU!). The vibrancy of the colors was amazing! If you click on the picture you can see some of them in the backgrounds! I loved that they had different color themes, so you could match the ones you already have! I was also quite pleased to see that they have oversized tree skirts! When you have a 10 or 12 foot tree, the normal size tree skirts look puny underneath them. We had switched to using a Christmas themed quilt, as we like our skirt to come out to the outer reaches of the tree limbs. But I may have to go back and rethink some of the gorgeous tree skirts they have!
And the selection or ornaments was wonderful! I loved the Sears tools collection- perfect for that hard to shop for guy! Kiddo was equally pleased to see the Peanuts collection of figurines and ice village set, that were animated! While we have a Halloween Land, we have skipped a Christmas village, and let Kiddo put her Little People nativity and Santa sets all over the train table. But when she saw the Peanuts collection, there was a new sparkle in her eye, and I know next year she'll be asking for pieces from it!
We were given the opportunity to pick a few favorites to take home and we had a VERY hard time trying to decide on what we liked the best! I mean just LOOK at this gorgeous ornament:

Can't you just see giving this as a special gift to a loved one, best friend or child's teacher?
It is GORGEOUS! AND very reasonable at UNDER $10!
So what else did we pick up?
It was funny as we selected ornaments all from Ty's new collection! We selected the fleur de lis ornament for the center of the coffee table display or for the hanging down the middle of the archway between the dining room and the front room!
Then Kiddo wanted a 'Pretty Boy' cardinal ornament for the bookshelf display area, so we found this adorable cardinal dressed in hat and boots! Finally Kiddo stuck to her feathered friends and wanted a cardinal for the tree, to represent HER (we have birds on the tree for adult family members-old Southern tradition), and a PINK one for her bedroom tree, since her little Christmas tree is PINK!
And of course because we were at Sears, Dad wandered over to tools to check out selections for a new drill, and I was able to run over to the kids clothing section and get Kiddo new knee socks and camisoles for the winter season! Yup, it bears reminding that Sears was the original one-stop shipping store, starting in the 1890s!
